“So just let me introduce myself, my name is Taylor, pronounced with a ‘aylor’.”
If you didn’t read that and hear the song The Humpty Dance by Digital Background, then go back and try it again. It’s fun. I promise. If you don’t know what song I am talking about, well… then this is awkward… anyway. Hello there, and welcome to my happy place! The place where I get to do my best to educate, expand your mind (hopefully), and enhance your lives.
But before I get into all of that, here’s a bit about me – and let’s not make this one-sided – I want to get to know you all as well. So drop the knowledge in the comment section below! I wanna meet ya.
I am a small town girl from a farming community in Indiana where the environment isn’t generally a concern and vegetarianism/veganism is considered Weird with a capital “W.” I mean small town, like 82 people in my graduating class, small town. Then I moved to the city in 2018, met like-minded individuals, and felt right at home. No judgment to small farm towns – I am actually glad I grew up in a small area as it makes a girl humble – but it just doesn’t fit who I am today, ya know?
I am a law school graduate, litigation paralegal, and fur mom. I have two nephews, whom I adore with my entire being, named Miles and Malik. And I have an obsession with elephants, which helps explain this site’s name. My idea of fun = reading, staying home, crafting, baking, thrifting, and spending time outside or with my fam. What can I say? I’m an old soul. And last, but certainly not least, I am obsessed with the environment. Hence, this blog. Now on to the fun part…
If I had a dollar for every person who told me “but I am just one person, and it won’t make a difference” when I recommended they make a positive change for the environment, I’d be rich – or at least have been able to pay off my student debt in full (shew – law school is expensive y’all!). But here’s the thing – everything starts with one person and GROWS. Just look at the ants – teeeeeeny tiny, but when they work together, They. Get. Shit. Done. So it’s time to stop making excuses, make like the ants, and start taking action. Which is what I plan to help you, and myself, do right here on this site. We’re in this together, ’cause ya girl has some improvement to do herself as well.
On this site we are going to discuss environmental topics, hear from special guests (because I am no expert, so I will let them do the talking,) find sustainable products/alternatives, try healthy recipes (for you and the environment), educate ourselves, and find ways to leave a much smaller footprint. Let’s do this thing!
Got a question? Ask away.
